Reviews & GuidesSELLER BEWARE...!!!! PAYPAL RESOLUTIONS POLICYHi all,Just a little note to EXPLAIN paypals resolution policy for buyers unrecieved items CLAIMS. I recently had a buyer claim she did NOT recieve the movies i sent her . This was in retaliation for filing an unpaid items claim on 74 movies she did NOT pay for, which i won. Paypal informed me of the case against me and i responded with what i THOUGHT was very good evidence against her claim. 1. The feedback she left me for all the movies, stating she was very happy with the purchase and had recieved her movies. 2. The copy's of the letters she had sent me on the EBAY site which showed she had recieved the movies and was going to buy many many more. 3. The postage reciept dated the day after her purchase which showed her ZIP code and price of the mailing. These items were purchased by media mail and she did NOT opt for any of the extras (Insurace or Confirmation) 4. The facts that she had recently had Both her accounts SUSPENDED at EBAY and had just recently got them back on somehow. 5. The fact that a yahoo people search on this person showed THREE different places of residence ALL with the same street address but in three different city's BUT all with the same Phone Number. Thinking i had no problem with this claim i was soon to discover how very WRONG i was....!!! Seems like PAYPAL (which is also an EBAY company) has only ONE SIMPLE RULE...!!! 1. DO YOU HAVE A DELIVERY CONFIRMATION RECIEPT...!!!! &l... BUYER BEWARE...!!!! PAYPAL RESOLUTIONS POLICY
BOOTLEGS--HOW TO SPOT THEM!If the video comes without a box and the seller says s/he can't find it or it's lost, it's probably a home-made video. BOOTLEG/PIRATED VIDEOS UPDATED 08/30/07Most movies that come in clamshells and are not stated as rentals are bootleg and not only illegal, but against ebay policy- this is not to be confused with legitimate studio released videos that do come in clamshells ie: Disney and a lot of other Children's videos- always ask if it's in studio issued packaging, as opposed to... Color copy artwork inserted is another hint- If it's a studio original, where's the original box? Look for expensive/rare movies shown at an unbelievably low prices- if it's too good to be true it probably is. Also look at quantities- 20 copies listed in clamshells is a good indicator- if the movies are rare, how did this seller get so many and why are they not in their original cardboard sleeve? No box at all is suspicious You need to email these sellers w/questions before you bid, for your own good- no reply? they are avoiding you!! Don't be a victim of these bootleggers- it cost them no more than $2 to make the movie, when the honest sellers pay top dollar for quality collectible merchandise BEWARE OF NEW SELLERS WITH LARGE INVENTORIES- they most likely are recently removed sellers returning under a new ID - if you recognize them or ther inventory, report them. follow up 6/26/06 Firstly, I want to thank everyone who has emailed me on this subject, and now I think it's time to reveal the names of the worst offenders. UNFORTUNATELY THE NAMES HAD TO BE ... How To BECOME A VIDEO & DVD BOOTLEG / COPY DETECTIVE(If you find this guide to be helpful, please give it a vote at the bottom. Thank you!) BEWARE OF BOOTLEGGERS!Most eBay sellers are honest, hardworking legitimate sellers; however, unfortunately there are some dishonest sellers that are bootlegging....in other words, they are copying and selling illegal copies to unsuspecting buyers. Here are some tips in helping you determine whether the video you are purchasing is a fake or the real deal: GUIDE FOR NEWBIES (new ebayers)First off if you are buying a product follow these simple rules, 1. READ what THE SELLER has to say about the item being sold not the product description box .If you are unsure of what EXACTLY is being sold USE the ask the seller link in the upper right hand corner and ASK questions about the item. (condition of item?, previous rental item?, Genuine USA Factory made item?,original box?) If a seller does not respond in a reasonable amount of time (1 or 2 days)Then it is usually because they do NOT want to answer your questions and in this case it is best to just forget it. 2. If there is NO actual PICTURE of the item ASK seller if he can put one up on the site and NOT to email you one. Just is much safer in these days of VIRUSES.(We sellers often just do not have the time to take picture of every item we list BUT are happy to respond to requests.)Remember your idea of excellant and sellers idea of excellant are often far far apart. 3. Check the SELLERS feedback comments not just the ratings, This will usually tell you more about the seller then anything else.On ebay 97% is really NOT very good. 4. If you are Bidding for an item, Decide what you would be willing to pay for the product and bid accordingly Ebay will automatically give it to you for the lowest bid price possible. If you are using buy it now and it seems fair just go ahead and BUY it, if you wait it may be GONE. 5. Now as for the SHIPPING TIME and COSTS ,when in doubt ASK before you buy, "Standard flat rate" shipping usually means the slowest possible way at the highest possible price...!!! Reputable dealers usually will g... Selling your DVDs and VHS from HomeSelling your DVDs & VHS One must first consider the market on Ebay is saturated with dvds and vhs,. there are also tons of illegal dvds and vhs selling. Also there are hundreds in every category shipping from Hong Kong and China. Most but not all from these areas will be listed for .99. The shipping will be outrageous but people will pay. You must figure out a formula for your stock. I'll tell you what my formula was and perhaps that will help you to create your own. First off, alot of dvds- popular ones sell for $5.00 nowadays in a major retail store. Unless you are selling a very hard to find dvd, second hand dvds should be priced to sell. I usually sold my once previous viewed for $3.50. There were of course brand new released movies I purchased for $16.99 retail that I would turn around and sell, but in todays market, you'll get $9.99 for that dvd. So I price to sell older(1-2 yrs and older) dvds at $3.50. When selling be descriptive, I would even take a picture of my dvd to insure the buyer knew he/she was getting the real thing. My previous viewed dvds are clean, no scratches or very few. Make certain you mention the condition they are in. Make certain any inserts are mentioned, some dvds have coupon inserts or other media related info. I also mention they will play in USA/CA dvd players only so as to not have someone International bid and expect dvd will play in Europe. Although nowadays players can be worked in such a way in Europe that they can play region one dvds. Nine times out of ten my dvds sold long before the competition. Shipping for my stock was 1st class for most dvds in a bubblemailer. I figured in the cost of bubblemailer(.25), bubblewrap(.22) gallon freezer bag(.10). To ship a 7 oz or less dvd it costs-$1.84-$2.20 with delivery confirmation. Everyone of my sales had delivery confirmation on it. Mention your shipping not... BOOTLEG DVDS MOST COMMONLY SOLD ON EBAYThis guide will give you a list of the most common bootleg DVDs sold on EBay. Most of these movies were released in VHS or Laser Disc only and some were never released at all. The TV shows listed were released on VHS only. You will also find additional lists on EBay guides that I have compiled to help you determine if the movie or TV program you are interested in is an illegal or homemade bootleg copy, and prevent you from getting ripped off. Please note: the bootleg copies on VHS are NTSC format and DVD's are region 1 format: BOOTLEG DVD MOVIES COMMONLY SOLD ON EBAY Before reading, as a disclaimer to all, I am both a collector and a seller of ORIGINAL VHS wrestling video's. WWF / WWE, WCW and NWA video's are all of interest to me. And I have been an eBay member for long enough to know that they are also of interest to many of you as well. That's why the rarest of the rare video's consistently command top dollar. Hunting them down is the challenge, but is also half the fun! The following is my own personal thoughts on original factory released wrestling videos that I consider to be very rare to come by (and if interested be sure to check out my auctions as I'm always listing original wrestling videos each and every week, and when I'm lucky enough to come into one of these rare gems to sell, they're going to go fast!)... WCW Bash at the Beach 2000 - Extremely rare to come by with it's original box. This was one of the last WCW pay per views to ever have an official home video release from Turner / WB, and it's rumored that small quantities had only a very limited shelf life because of the Hogan / Russo incident on this show (resulting in a lawsuit from Hogan). All WCW VHS videos from 2000 are tough to come by (with New Blood Rising, Fall Brawl and Great American Bash 2000 also being a little harder to come by than average), but Bash at the Beach 2000 is a true challenge to come into. And if you can find a WCW video from 2000 that is factory sealed, then you have come into a true rare gem. WWF Factory Sealed Coliseum Videos - Be sure to look for a watermark on the sealed shrinkwrap reading "Coliseum Video" as this is proof positive that a video is in fact FACTORY SEALED. While it's true that there is the odd video out there that ... This film is only original in two formats: VHS PAL video tape from Europe and Laser Disc format from Japan or Hong Kong. Any dvd version is illegal to sell as these are bootleg copies usually coming from Taiwan,Hong Kong, or many are home made from home computers. Each and every dvd is not produced by the Disney Company nor authorized to sell anywhere in the world. This film has never been approved for distribution on dvd by the Disney Company and will probably never be authorized for sale in this format. Also there are vhs copies on video tape being sold for use here in the United States and Canada, but again these are illegal bootleg copies also as the film was never and will never be authorized for sale anywhere in the Western World.I would definately suggest not attempting to purchase any dvd or vcd,or vhs copy of this film as you definately are not buying an original. Each and most of the cover jackets are computer generated and made to look authentic, but are very much bootleg. Also best not to support these bootleg sellers here on ebay! Turn them in to Ebay for suspension of their accounts and have their illegal auctions pulled from Ebay and do your part to keep Ebay Totally Legal! Sopranos fans don't get tricked into buying boot leg Complete Season Series Asian or Chinese boxed sets!!! BEWARE of alot of the Buy It Nows for complete seasons at cheaper prices!! I was fooled into falling for that even after doing what I thought was extensive research on sellers. I purchased the complete set that claimed it was the exact ones sold in USA major stores on a Buy It Now from a "seller" that had 100% positive feedback and was in the "USA". SO I THOUGHT! I did get the Sopranos Boxed Set in the mail. IT WAS NOT THE USA VERSION. IT WAS A MANMADE BOOTLEG JOKE! The box was copied pictures glued onto a cigar type box w/ DVDs in generic plastic sleeves, and CHINESE WRITING all over it. I despise exercise. I also love to eat. So, it should not have come as a surprise when I looked in the mirror one day, weighing more than 200 pounds, in a Size 18, completely disgusted with my body on how I ended up this way. I tried starvation, diet pills, laxatives, diuretics, Atkins, South Beach, SugarBusters, SlimFast, the Grapefruit Diet, the Cabbage Soup Diet, the Russian Military Diet, Weight Watchers, yada, yada, yada...EVERYTHING! I always lasted the first couple of weeks, but my willpower caved and soon I was back to my old habits of Pepsi and fast food. Sure, I would lose some weight, sometimes astonishing amounts in very short periods of time, but it can back with a fury I had never known. I realized that the only way I would ever loose weight permanently without severely depriving myself of the things I loved was to eat a healthy diet and exercise. But, I hate exercise. I have never stepped foot in a gym, mostly out of insecurity, but also because I just don't care to sweat. I am a perpetual night owl, something that has never paid off (trust me, the dark circles under my eyes prove it), until I saw an infomercial for Mari Winsor's Pilates Program very late one night. For an hour I was engrossed by the personal testimonies of people who seemed just like me who had lost so much weight, tightened their bodies and changed their lives forever thanks to Winsor Pilates. Mari came across so sincere and believable, not tacky like so many fitness informercials. What caught my attention even more was that she had an unbelievable gaurantee that a natural gambler like myself couldn't pass up. She guarantees you will lose a pant size in 10 sessions or she will refund your money! Hi, Folks! I'm Catherine from 4-a-little-lady, an active eBay 8-track store. Are you confused about the mysteries of the 8-track? If so, perhaps I can help. To comply with eBay size requirements this guide will be posted in sections. You are reading: Part Three: Pad Repair WARNING: 8-track music tapes are a fragile music source. Tapes malfunctioned easily 40-years ago; tapes malfunction today. The design of the 8-track tape creates this problem. How 8-Tracks Work: 8-track music tapes are made of 1/4" tape that is connected into a loop by a metal tape tab called, "splicing foil". Along the length of this loop, the tape is divided into 8 stripes called "tracks". This is where the name, ' 8-Track Tape' comes from. A plastic cartridge box holds the loop of tape around a removable wheel near the center of the container. The tape is wound in a manner that allows it to feed over the outside of the case, where your player reads two of the tracks at a time to make music. Your player has a rounded metal part called a "head" that pushes against the exposed length of tape on the cartridge. As your machine head pushes agai... Hello, Wrestling Fans! This is a list of all the titles of the Sailor
Moon bootleg DVDs being sold on eBay. For more on recognizing these
bootlegs (not just by their covers), and to see inside pictures of my season 1 and 2 bootlegs (which are the same as the first picture under season 1 and 2 below), see my Bootleg Sailor Moon & Other Anime DVDs - Spotting Them! guide. It is true that there are now and have been in the past VHS sellers operating on Ebay, as well as other on-line venues, who do make illegal bootleg copies of movies and pass them off, often at premium prices, as legitimate tapes, but it is unfair and untrue to state that more than half of VHS sellers operate this way. By and large the sellers are honest, and the few who are not are eventually caught up with through the feedback system, square deal trading and other programs Ebay has in operation and are suspended from trading on the site. The real tell on identifying sellers dealing in bootleg tapes is a seller with expensive, hard to find titles who also have low feedback numbers and negative comments left by unsatisfied buyers. WE HOPE BOTH BUYERS AND SELLERS WILL FIND THIS GUIDE HELPFUL. IN THE THREE YEARS WE HAVE BEEN ACTIVELY SELLING ON E-BAY WE HAVE HAD LOTS AND LOTS OF QUESTIONS FROM PEOPLE ABOUT WHAT CERTAIN ACRONYMS OR ABBREVIATIONS MEAN IN OUR LISTINGS OR TITLES. FROM THOSE QUESTIONS THIS GUIDE IS BORN! WE DO NOT EVEN BEGIN TO ASSUME WE KNOW WHAT ALL THE AA's ARE THAT FOLKS ARE USING, BUT WE DO THINK IT COVERS MOST OF THEM. WE HOPE THIS HELPS YOU AND WELCOME ANY FEEDBACK.
