Reviews & GuidesCORNING WARE CORELLE CASSEROLE DISH SAUCE PAN PATTERNSWhen purchasing your new or vintage Corning Ware and Corelle bakeware, try to purchase items that include a detailed description of any flaws or damage. You can always ask the seller for more information or for more photos to be emailed to you before you place your bid or use their Buy-It-Now feature, that way there are "no surprises" when you receive your item and you will be happy with your purchase. Ask if there are nics, chips, cracks, flea bites, lime or hard water stains, rust stains etc. Vintage Corning Ware that has chips or cracks can become hazardous, they can further crack or chip from high heat in todays modern temperature ovens and our modern dishwashers especially. You may notice the chip getting bigger and can also find small pieces in the drain of your dishwasher. They were made for temps used in the 1960's and 1970's. Hand washing is best for these items that have chips or cracks on the handles or on the bottom of the saucepan, baking dish or casserole. NEVER try to repair a crack or chip in a Corning Ware piece as this will compromise the integrity of the strength and durability of the original manufacturer process. You will also find the stamping different on the bottom: There is the ink stamp and the lighter translucent silver colored stamp. I believe the ink stamp is older, my mothers were ink stamped and they were from the 1960's. I still have her HUGE - Cornflowrer Blue set to this day and they look near new. Corning also made the Centura, Buffet Server and COOKMATES line. All three lines have been discontinued and are no longer being made by Corning. Centura came in different colors such as white, pale yellow and avacado (green) with matching coordinating lids/covers, all had a ceramic/glass white colored knob on the top of the lids.
