Hollywood Party Planning Guide
Show Guide... Hollywood Theme Parties have become very popular over the last few years. The Hollywood theme has been used for many different events and occassions; such as Birthdays, Proms, Weddings, Recognition Events, etc.The Hollywood theme is universal, which makes your guests feel more comfortable and opens up the door for any guest of any age to participate in your party theme. Hollywood theme parties are so much fun to throw, but can also be alot of work. But how do you plan for one? This guide has been created to help any party planner make their Hollywood Party a resounding success.
First, what's the occassion? Birthday, employee event? You'll want to choose the best sub-theme for the party. The Hollywood theme can be broken down into 3 sub themes....(1) Classic Hollywood, (2) Awards Night, and (3) Movie Night. You want to ensure you refrain from mixing sub-themes that do not blend. For instance, you don't want to send a movie night invitation , when your plan is to create a Classic Hollywood Theme.
We are recommending the following sub-theme is used for each of the listed occassions...
Birthday- Classic Hollywood or Movie Night
Wedding- Classic Hollywood
Milestone- Classic Hollywood
Proms- Classic Hollywood

Childrens parties on a shoestring.
Show Guide... It has been a while but my two teenagers still talk about their Birthday parties. These can be done fairly cheaply and the kids (even all their friends still talk about them).
We had a barbie sleep over party, the guest brought Barbie, we made a sleeping bag (out of scrap fabric, if you have a handkerchief from the $1.00 store works well )for dolls, had a Barbie doll cake, and tea(lemonade). And Barbie had a place of honor at the cake table with their on chairs (they made them from popsicle sticks) And the items they made became part of their loot bag, which I had put some doll shoes (anything on clearance) She thought that was great.
Another party we had was a pirate theme, went to a park where I set up a scavenger hunt (I hid the loot for party bags and the guests had to fill them). Gave them a treasure map and a loot bag and they had to find the treasure to fill their bag. Pinata was a parrot and pirate hats, and patches filled out the theme. That one was a big hit.
And did not cost me a bundle.
We also did a train theme (Thomas was big then) and ride a train around the zoo (but the zoo had free admission that day). Complete with engineers' hats, train whistles and of course a train cake.
Do not forget to vote at bottom of page. And if you feel like writting a guide yourself, email through my messages and I will add to this one.
Blues Clues BIrthday Party
Show Guide... Here are ideas for a complete Blues Clues Birthday Party
BLUE'S CLUES PARTY DECORATIONS There's nothing Blue likes better than a festive birthday party. Begin with matching balloons, streamers and tableware. Cover your table with white or blue butcher paper. Use a rubber paw-print stamp or cut paw prints from blue paper and scatter them around the table. Add a centerpiece by tying a bouquet of balloons to a Blue's Clues stuffed toy. Additional decorating: Make large blue and magenta paw prints to mount on the walls, windows and floor. For an extra special touch, enlist a teenage helper to make Joe and Blue's house using a large appliance box. Paint the walls orange. Cut doors and windows. An extra large piece of cardboard painted red will make the roof. The kids will enjoy playing in this special house!
BLUE'S CLUES PARTY GAMES & ACTIVITIES We've provided several fun ideas for this theme. Select the activities that best suit your party space and the age of the children.
Handy Dandy Notebooks Purchase small spiral notebooks for each child. Provide fabric scraps, ribbon, stickers, markers, glue etc. The children will decorate their own "Handy-Dandy Notebook" to take home!
What's In the Box No Blue's Clues party theme would be complete without the clues! Before the party wrap something special in a box. Keep it simple so that the children can understand the clues. EX: balloons, cookies, candy, balls etc... Write or...
Fun Birthday Party Idea - Or any Occasion
Show Guide... Recently my son turned 20. I wanted to do something unusual. I wanted it to be something that none of his friends had experienced before. The first time I heard of a Murder Mystery party was about 20 years ago. Someone had mentioned doing one as a dinner party, which most are designed for. I had, however, never been to one.
All these years the idea stuck with me. It just sounded so intriguing. So, I went about the task of hosting a Murder Mystery. I searched eBay for "Murder Mysteries." My search yielded several boxed sets, all reasonably priced. Most of them, however, were designed to be done for a dinner party of 6 to 10 guests. I needed something for about 20 people. I did an internet search to find something that was a bit more suited for what I was planning.
I found the perfect one. It was great because as soon as I paid I downloaded everything I needed. I found a Murder Mystery that I could set in any era I wanted. I chose 1938 because all of my son's friends are Swing dancers. We all have the clothes. I didn't want people to have to spend a lot of money, as all who are invited are asked to come in character.
My nephew did have to buy a zoot suit. He found a great suit right here on eBay for $50.00. That was so cheap!! And it arrived very quickly. eBay is a great resource for all your party needs, no matter what your looking for.
What is a Murder Mystery party? Well, everyone at the party is in character, as I mentioned. There is a murder (at least one). Throughout the night clues are given and the party guests try to figure out "who done it." The party sets are great if you only anticipate a small group. But, if your party is larger than 10, I highly recommend murder-mystery-game.com to get a party that you download right to your computer. It allows you to tailor the party to your needs. Mine cost only $24.95.

30, 40, 50, and beyond... A birthday celebration at any of these milestone ages is essential. The celebrant may not feel as young as he/she used to and will welcome a celebration. A great theme for any adult birthday party is "Good Old Days" celebration, where memorabilia from childhood through adulthood is incorporated throughout the entire party. Surprise parties are always an option, as they may not be expected at this age and bring the most fun to everyone. Whatever you decide upon, it's bound to turn an age-old event into a celebration of a lifetime.
Party Time & Quick Tips
The time is set for the party tells the guests what to expect, for example: 2:00 pm is in between lunch and dinner, so light snacks are expected or no food is expected and 5:00 pm indicates food will be served.
Invitations
State clearly what guests should expect, for example: Open House - Please drop by between the hours of 2:00pm to 4:00pm Cocktail Party - Join us for drinks and snacks from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Potluck - Please bring your favorite dish to pass dinner is at 6:00pm Surprise Party - Park your car a block or so away and help surprise Jessica.
Tips for hosting an at home birthday party
Show Guide... Tips for hosting your At Home Birthday Party
Here is some advice for those brave parents who are willing to take on the task of being a host of your little one's birthday party.
- Limit your party to a specific area of your house (ie,the back yard.) This will ensure more controll over your guests and need I say less area to clean up.
- Organize party Activities yourself. This will save you money and will be a great opportunity to share that special day with your child.
- Pick a theme. This will make the party more fun and will attract more guests. Incorporate your theme into your decorations like balloons, invitations, etc.
- Set a schedule. Schedule a start and end time for the party. This will benefit both you and your guests. The younger the children the shorter the party can be.
- Get the party started. Start with a quet activity while your guests arrive. Maybe a puzzle or story telling. When it's time to "officially" start the party and all or most of your guests have arrived, plan 2-3 active games lasting from 1/2 hour to 45 mins depending on the guest's age group.
- Serving snacks. After the games its time to start settling down. Start serving snacks, cake and beverages.
- Serve adult snacks too. Keep in mind that birthday parties are for but not limited to children. That means that while snacks can be child oriented there can be adults present who want to snack on more than cookies and milk.
- Now you can either open the presents or let the children run wild. Warnin: opening presents during the partyh can lead to chaos.
You might want to make and keep a list of the following party essentials just so you don't forget.

Blues Clues Birthday Party Ideas Blue's Clues
Show Guide... I'm planning a Blue's Clues (3rd) birthday party for my daughter. A woman at our local Rag Shop store told me Blue's Clues is being discontinued. I don't know how true that is but I'm finding it very hard to find items related to Blue. So I turned to the internet and eBay. And I found some great stuff and ideas.
We're not really doing games because the kids are so young. I have 17 kids coming. They're all under 5 except for 3 of them.
Here is a list of things I bought on eBay:
Personalized Blue's Clues Birthday Pin
Blue's Clue's Action Stamper Set - the ink was dried up on the stampers so I just bought some new ones at the dollar store
Large Dog Bone & Paw Cookie Cutters - I was going to use these for cookies, but now I'm thinking Jell-o might work better, or even ice cream.
Blue's Clues Mylar Balloons - the tank to fill them is about $35
Blue's Clues Favor Baskets - these are really cute for older children
Blue's Clues Party Favor Boxes
Blue's Clues Birthday Party Favor Scratch Off Game - what a unique item. I asked to have them all made into winners and we'll give out the light up wands as a prize
Blue's Clues Mini Dot Stickers
Blue's Clues Tattoos Party Favors
Blue's Clues Dress Up Time Birthday Party - this is a gift for my daughter
Blue's Clues Light Up Paw Wands from Blue's Clues Live
Blue's Clues It's a Party Poster
Blue's Clues & Ffriends Large Stickers
Blue's Clues Personalized Party Favors - these are small stickers that you place on the bottom of Hershey Kisses

Start with a centerpiece -- Pinatas are great for this! -- and the coordinate table accessories and balloons in match colors and designs. Planning a great birthday party for your child!
Show Guide... - The first thing about throwing a Great Birthday party for your boy or girl, is to first determine the theme. If your child is not old enough to tell you what the theme is (ie: Barney or Dora ), then you probably have to decide the theme on your own. You can also get an idea by what kinds of cartoons, or programs watch they.
- The next thing is to decide what your price range will be, so that you can determine how many people you can invite to fit into your budget.
- Confirm the location & plan. Generally, if held outdoors like at the beach, then you may need to do a lot of organizing (paper goods, drinks, snacks, food, etc). If indoors, a place that specializes in parties will generally cost more, but will save you time because you won't have to organize much. For instance, if you choose a place like Chuck E. Cheese's, then the food, party hats, and birthday cake are already included (Check websites for coupons that may help you save some $$). You may want to personalize with birthday party favors and goodie bags for the guests .
- Ask for help from friends or family, and delegate responsibilities. If you have games, then ask people (who enjoy doing this) to facilitate the games. If they can help to plan games, then have at it! You also can ask them to give you a list of what needs to be purchased for the games and prizes, and you purchase those things-make sure to recognize all the people who help you on the day of the party in some way or another.

Plan your childs 1st birthday party guide
Show Guide... Party Planning for your child's 1st birthday
Your child will be 1 year old in just a short time. You have been watching your child grow up. You have bought him or her many different types of toys, some educational toys but mostly cute play toys that they enjoy. They have discovered cartoons and you can just tell which ones they like. Take my daughter for example she loves her a Elmo doll. When she sees Elmo her eyes light up and she give the biggest smile in the world.
Us as parents know what our child likes. We love our child and want them to have a good time. The 1st birthday is as much for the parents as the child but you still want to go with a theme your child will enjoy. Here is a list of some of the most common themes for your child's 1st birthday:
- Baby Einstein
- Barney
- Care Bears
- Curious George
- Elmo
- Sesame Street 1st
- Thomas Train
- Winnie the Pooh
Party Planning Considerations
You want your child's first birthday to be rememberable. Make sure to take lots of pictures and video so you can show your child how much everyone loved them. It is not only a time to celebrate your child's accomplishments but also your accomplishments for raising the best child in the world.
Young children have a short attention span and some get upset if too many new things are happening around them. Plan the time of the party around your child's nap time. In the early afternoon right after their regular nap time is an ideal ti...
Baby Einstein Party Supplies Guide
Show Guide... This party theme has been adapted from the childrens TV series Baby Einstein. Baby Einstein is a very good educational show for your baby or toddler. The party set includes several of your childs favorite Einstein Characters such as Baby Einstein Dragon, Baby Vangough, and Baby Newton. The primary colors for this party set are red, yellow and blue. Knowing the primary colors will help you out with your other decorating projects for this party theme.
Party Planning Considerations
Baby Einstein Party is a perfect party for your baby's or toddlers party. But remember young children have a short attention span and some get upset if too many new things are happening around them. Plan the time of the party around your child's nap time. In the early afternoon right after their regular nap time is an ideal time. Keep the party short, around 2-3 hours. If you plan your party for longer than that make sure you set up a nap room for all those tired kids. Keep the guest list simple and invite only the closest friends and family. Consider providing healthy snacks for all the little children.
Party Ideas- Play classical music throughout your party
- Bake a cake in the shape of your child's favorite Baby Einstein character
- Play Baby Einstein movies
- Decorate with red, blue and yellow balloons and streamers
- Make treats that look like caterpillars with colored marshmallows
Planning a Kid's Birthday Party
Show Guide... While there is absolutely nothing wrong with throwing your child's
birthday party at a Chuck E. Cheeses, McDonalds, Build-a-Bear, roller
or ice skating rink, bowling alley, or pottery place, it can get tiring
attending the "same party" over and over again. They all begin to
blur together and even your child may not remember their actual birthday party. We have always wanted
birthdays to be unique, special occassions that would be completely
memorable for our child. That's why we've always thrown themed
birthday parties.
For many parents, including ourselves, this can be a very daunting
task. As full-time working parents of two, we worried about the
expense, whether the guests and the birthday child would enjoy the
party, and our ability to "pull it off". Over the years, we've
found that planning a birthday party needn't be a difficult task.
With proper planning and scheduling, it can be pulled together with
ease. The first step is to identify a theme. Themes help
"bring it all together" and make planning the other elements of the
party easier. Theme selection should be done with the birthday
child in mind (their hobbies and interests) and their age and the age
of the potential guests.
Once a theme has been selected, you should focus on identifying a
location, date, and time. Keeping your theme in mind, select a
location that will accommodate the maximum number of guests
comfortably. If you're having the party in your home, the date
and time will be of upmost importance. However, if you're having
the party outside of the home, the date and time may be driven by the
selected location (e.g., availability of the local park or pool).
Stick with dates close to your child's birthday and...
BIRTHDAY PARTY PLANNING FOR CHILDREN
Show Guide... BIRTHDAY PARTY
PLANNING FOR CHILDREN
The day is getting closer and your getting nervous. What will you plan for your child's birthday party? How can you make things go as smooth as possible no matter what kind of party you have? Here are some guides or guidelines to help you along.
One month before birthday - Discuss with your child the kind of party she/he would like to have. If your child wants to have a special kind of party, for instance have a clown or magician present at the party, this is the time to locate, hire, and contract said clown or magician. Go to the internet and look under clowns or magicians. Once found call the performer and make sure the date and time is secure. If you need to put a deposit down, most performers will accept credit cards as well as personal checks, money orders, etc. at this time.
If your child wants a pizzas party, skating party etc., again, this is the time to book the party. In larger cities you might even consider an earlier appointment time depending on the popularity of the event in your community.
Three weeks before party - Shop for present if this is a part of your birthday party ritual. Check out my ebay for some fun items. Everything from clothes to toys. Purchase any decorations you will need. Especially if you are going to get it on ebay. This gives you a good time to receive the product.
Two weeks before party - send out invitations. Check out my craft books. I'm sure I have a couple that would show how to make invitations or birthday cards the homestyle way. If it is a classroom party make sure that the teacher has approved the party as well as the compliance of the school. ...
