Reviews & GuidesRival smart crock potThis pot looks nice, but please don't waste your money, it cooks way to hot. Even when you put it on the warming mode, you can not maintain a liquid level in this pot. I am so very disappointed with mine. I am defnitely going back to a regular slow cooker. I read this on another review, that it cooked to hot, but thinking maybe this one might be different. How wrong I was. West Bend Slo Cooker-made in ChinaI received a west bend slo cooker 6 quart for a wedding gift in 1984. It was MADE IN USA. Christmas 2005, I received another one made by west bend BUT it was made in China. It did not work properly. Roast never did get done. I had to put the roast in the 1984 crock pot. So don't waste your money on the NEW west bend slo cooker. Buy a used one off ebay MADE IN THE USA. I was SO disappointed with the new CHINA crockpot that I got a refund from Dillard's. Crock pots Slo CookersThe ones made today are MADE IN CHINA. My old Slo Cooker was made in the USA in 1984 and works PEFECT still. So be sure to buy a product made in the usa. Learning to use the Rival SmartCookerI was very leary to purchase the Rival automatic smart cooker. I had read tons of reviews by people stating that it cooked way too hot and burned their food. I experienced this as well, but with some manuvering, I was able to make it work. #1 - use a crock pot liner (Reynolds makes them and they are sold in the baggie and foil aisle in the grocery store). This keeps the food a little insulated and from being directly on the crock surface. #2 - Use more water or liquid than the recipe calls for, this will help with the meal getting too dry and burned. #3 - Do not let it switch to the warm cycle for more than 2 hours. They say 4 hours, but that is too long. I am gone from home for 12 hours a day, but most recipes only call for max of 10 hours. While it does not work as nice as the good ole crock pots do, it does help people who can't be home in 10 hours to shut it off. Time Saving Tips For Cooking SupperDo you seem to be running 110 mph at times. When is the last time your family all sat down together for dinner. It is a fast paced world we live in. Are you good at multitasking ? Well here is an easy way to multitask cooking dinner with all the other things going on. Drag out that old crockpot and wipe the dust off it. Many delicious meals can be prepared in a crockpot and each member of the family can have a hot delicious meal on there own schedule. You still have the food prep time, but cooking time is cut to zero because the crockpot does the cooking while you are off doing other things like blogging on Ebay. With luck, there may even be enough left over for tomorrow night. Then all anyone has to do is grab a bowl and heat some up in the microwave. Here are some of my favorite meals that I prepare in the crockpot. I am sure you can come up with many more. Chili Chicken Noodle Soup Beef Stew Chicken & Dumplings Corned Beef Vegetable Beef Soup Sauerkraut & Smoked Sausage Pot Roast Potato Soup So next time you go to the grocery store, plan ahead and enjoy some delicious meals while cutting your cooking time way back. Pressured People /Pressure CookerPressure Cooker for a society of pressured people. We all live in a fast pace world, not enough time to get everything done, especially cooking, so we end up at the fast food places, and just get bigger and bigger. Our answer is to cook at home, that will not take much time, in less than 15 minutes and eat the healthy way an also save money. I have been on Ebay for more than 2 years and have sold many Pressure Cookers. Most of us would think that is for canning. No it is for fast cooking done in out Kitchen. Right now I have three different Pressure Cooker on my site for sale an when I was typing this afternoon on the good points of having a Pressure Cooker,, I thought to myself that would make a good guide. In the guide books that come with these cookers are all kinds of recipes, so easy to follow. Just think of putting a roast on and being ready to eat in 45 minutes or you may like to have Porcupine Meat Balls that will be ready in 10 Minutes or perhaps you would like Stuffed Pork Chops that will be ready in 12 to 15 minutes. Wow, just think what you are missing without a Presssure Cooker and you also can in these also. With Mirror-Matic book it gives you ever detail of cooking in jars, seal and ready to store, which is a good idea for all of us to do. Store so it will be available when we need it. The two Presto Pressure Cooker are the same, but they are smaller, they are 6 quarts. The Mirro Matic is 22 quarts. All three of these Pressure Cookers are for the people that are on the go and need to prepare their meals fast. Eat healthy, stay well, and keep your weight just where you want it. To Bid Or Not To Bid Thank you for lookin! THE PERFECT SLOW COOKED POT ROASTHERE YOU WILL LEARN THE CORRECT WAY TO COOK THE FLAWLESS PERFECT SLOW COOKED POT ROAST. IT'S SO EASY A MAN COULD DO IT--- OR A CAVEMAN. I AM CONSIDERING WRITING A COOKBOOK... MY CHILDREN AND I HAVE CREATED SEVERAL RECIPES OVER THE YEARS AND I HAVE ALWAYS HAD RAVE REVIEWS ON MY DINNER PARTIES AND BIRTHDAY PARTIES. IN FACT FOR A FEW YEARS I WAS DIRECTOR OF SALES & CATERING AT A LOCAL LARGE HOTEL. WE SERVED UNIQUE DISHES THAT I CREATED. START WITH ANY ROAST (BEEF OR PORK) THAT HAS GOOD MARBLING, BUT NOT TOO MUCH FAT. IF THERE IS A LOT OF FAT CUT OFF EXCESS. NOW, YOU'RE GOING TO BE SHOCKED AT HOW SIMPLE THE IS-- #1. PUT THE ROAST IN A SLOW COOKER (CROCK POT) #2. POUR 1 CAN OF ANY KIND OF CREAM SOUP ON TOP. IT CAN BE CREAM OF MUSHROOM, CHICKEN, POTATO OR ANY OTHER CREAM SOUP. PERSONALLY, I PREFER CREAM OF POTATO FOR THIS RECIPE. #3. POUR 1 PACKET OF ANY KIND OF GRAVY MIX OVER THE ROAST. AGAIN, PERSONALLY, I PREFER USING A COUNTRY GRAVY FOR THIS RECIPE. BUT ANY GRAVY WILL DO. #4. DO NOT STIR!!! AFTER ABOUT 4 HOURS FLIP THE ROAST OVER. COOK FOR ANOTHER 5 HOURS. TURNING ONLY A FEW TIMES DURING THE COOK TIME. YOU DON'T WANT TO BREAK IT UP BY FIDDLING WITH IT TOO MUCH. #5. AFTER 9 TO 10 HOURS....YOU HAVE THE PERFECT POT ROAST. IT DOESN'T NEED ANY KIND OF SEASONING. DO NOT ADD SALT OR ANYTHING. IT'S PERFECT WHEN IT COMES OUT. #6. SERVE WITH POTATO, CORN, SALAD AND ICED TEA....YOU'RE A STAR |
